TABC Adopts a Position on the European Commission’s Proposal for an ePrivacy Regulation

TABC released a position paper on the European Commission’s proposal for an ePrivacy Regulation. The TABC position paper highlights concerns of the transatlantic business community with respect to the discriminatory effects of the regulation to “electronic communication services” and the misalignment with the upcoming General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Strong incentives for continued investment in the EU and U.S in secure and high-speed communications are necessary to meet the demands of a vibrant digital economy. TABC believes the only a balanced and technology-neutral privacy framework will provide the necessary incentives to achieve this goal.
